Mycocody is the leader in fashion and lifestyle e-commerce in the Ivory Coast; and one of the first online fashion stores in West Africa.
Mycocody proposes a unique shopping experience for west african consumers as they can now access international and African brands online and receive their orders in a timely manner.
I was tasked with creating a branding style guide along with the UI design of the website, social media and other brand extensions for their launch in 2020.
My proposal was based on a visual identity that conveyed innovation and sophistication while proudly portraying the company’s African roots. Since online shopping is not the norm in West Africa we would have to keep simplicity and ease of use at the forefront of our design.
For the logo, we chose a font that conveys a clean look with a high end fashion feel and tweaked it to fit our vision. The earthy and sophisticated colors in our palette work well for fashion as well as for the African identity. We also decided to integrate a series of icons that I created for the project and are inspired by the Andinkra symbols of Ivory Coast, as an effort to show the origins of the company.
